Destiny’s Child

R&B Group

Destiny’s Child was one of the most popular female R&B groups of the late ’90s. They began as a quartet and had hits with the singles “No No No,” “Bills Bills” and “Say My Name.” But after several well-publicized feuds and lineup changes, the group settled into a trio comprised of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. By 2000, DC’s single “Independent Woman, Pt. 1” was featured on the soundtrack for Charlie’s Angels and spent 11 weeks at number one. Other hit singles for the group included “Survivor” and “Bootylicious.” The trio released the album Destiny Fulfilled in 2004 and a compilation of their number-one singles in 2005.
