Jean Grae

Rapper/Producer

Jean Grae, What? What?, no matter what name you know her by, one thing is for sure this underground rapper is quickly becoming a household name. Jean Grae was born in South Africa to jazz musicians, Sathima Bea Benjamin and Abdullah Ibrahim. The rapstress joined hip-hop groups "Ground Zero" and "Natural Resources," before branching out on her own. Jean's unreleased album Jeanius produced by 9th Wonder, was leaked on the internet, as a result work stopped on the album. Jean is signed to Talib Kweli's Blacksmith Records.
