Jessica Betts

When you combine raw energy with soulful sound and earthy vocals, the end result is without a doubt, Jessica Betts. With her soulful roots planted in the church, by age 18 Betts had earned herself a collaboration with Philadelphia super-group Boyz II Men. After proving that she packed pure talent, the Chicago-born crooner found herself involved in some major movies. Her smooth vocals play background to films including Big Mama’s House, Turn it Up and Simply Irresistible. In 2005, Betts trumped thousands of contestants when she was enthroned as the queen of Missy Elliott’s “Road to Stardom.” Her performance on the reality-based show won her praise from big-time musicians such as Madonna, Dallas Austin and Teena Marie. After taking a few years off from her music, Betts is back in the studio working on her new album, which is scheduled for release in early 2012.
