Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar is a Compton, California, native who has demonstrated a penchant for mesmerizing lyrical displays and thoughtful songwriting. He originally rapped under the moniker K. Dot and released a series of mixtapes starting in 2003. In 2010, he released O(verly) D(edicated) under his birth name, Kendrick Lamar. He followed up with the acclaimed Section .80 mixtape that earned him a BET Hip Hop Award nomination and shined a light on societal ills and the struggle of Generation Y. He is also a member of the Black Hippy collective.
