Mashonda

From LL Cool J and Jay-Z to Eve and Lil' Kim, Mashonda's voice has been heard on some of the hottest songs from hip hop's biggest artists. Her pen skills and singing talent led to a few deals and numerous collaborations with mega-producer Swizz Beatz, whom she married in 2004. Shortly after, the Harlem native debuted her first album, January Joy, which was released in Japan. After splitting from Swizz and enduring the drama surrounding his involvement with R&B singer Alicia Keys, Mashonda opened up about her relationship and divorce on season one of VH1's Love and Hip-Hop. As of late, the singer/songwriter is working on her second studio album and prepping for the release of her first novel, a memoir entitled Death of a Mermaid.
