Michelle Williams

Singer/Actress While the Rockford, Ill-born singer gained notoriety as a Destiny’s Child replacement, she’d become a part (and a voice) of the group’s best charting years, starting with the four-times platinum Survivor in 2001. While with the group, Williams released her own solo projects, primarily contemporary urban gospel albums like 2002’s Heart to Yours and 2004’s Do You Know. After Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2006, Williams maintained a healthy solo career. She has made her mark on the Broadway stage, first in the title role (replacing Toni Braxton) of Aida and then in the Oprah Winfrey-produced Color Purple.
