Ms. Melodie

Rapper Born Ramona Parker in Brooklyn's Flatbush neighborhood, rapper Ms. Melodie was best know for her 1988 release "Hype According to Ms. Melodie," the 1989 video "Live on Stage" and her verse in the song "Self Destruction."  In 1989, her debut album, Diva, produced primarily by KRS-One, was released.  Ms. Melodie was married to KRS-One from 1987 through 1992.  On July 18, 2012, the emcee passed away from unknown causes.

Ms. Melodie

As the former wife of the blastmaster KRS-One, Ms. Melodie had some knowledge that she too wanted to share with the hip hop community. Although her stint as an MC didn't last too long, she had a classic verse on "Self Destruction."
