Tim Pawlenty

Politician Tim Pawlenty has previously served as Governor of Minnesota, succeeding former professional wrestler-turned-Governor, Jesse Ventura. Pawlenty, a social conservative who opposes same-sex marriage and Roe v. Wade, was the chairman of the National Association of Governors from 2007-08. Before he became Governor, he served as majority leader of Minnesota’s House of Representatives. In May 2011, Pawlenty announced his bid for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. After three months of failing to generate enough excitement around his candidacy, Pawlenty bowed out of the race and endorsed Mitt Romney for president.
