Not to be confused with the actor Tommy Lee Jones, musician Tommy Lee is a founding member and drummer of heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. The group released their debut album Too Fast For Love in 1981 and went on to release a string of hit albums in the 80s including 1983’s Shout at the Devil, 1985’s Theatre of Pain, 1987’s Girls, Girls, Girls; and 1989’s Dr. Feelgood. Lee would later split from the group to found the rap-metal band Methods of Mayhem and also to release his first solo album, 2002’s Never a Dull Moment. Three years later he would pen an autobiography Tommyland and release his second studio album, Tommyland: The Ride.
