Philly native Vivian Green started off her career writing songs for other artists. She got her first major songwriting credit for "Dear God," a song on Boyz II Men's 1997 album Evolution. She'd later get her big break as a singer by backing up Jill Scott. By 2002 she was signed to Columbia Records and released her debut, A Love Story, that same year. The album notably featured Green's memorable hit "Emotional Rollercoaster." Green would go on to release three more albums, 2005's Vivian, 2010's Beautiful and 2012's The Green Room.
