Wale

Rapper This D.C. hometown hero first gained fame on the underground hip hop scene with the critically acclaimed Mixtape About Nothing. His lyrics are honest, his style is poetic, and his sound is infused with the rhythm and funk of go-go, a regional style that originated in D.C. Wale’s first appearance on 106 & Park was in November of 2009; he came through to celebrate the release of his debut album, Attention Deficit. Wale and his former label Interscope Records parted ways in early 2010, and by December of that year he had signed a new deal with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group, where he released his second LP, Ambition, in November 2011.
