Angel Reese Addresses Hate Train in New Ad For Reebok Sneaker
Angel Reese will not let the haters win.
To celebrate the highly anticipated launch of the Angel Reese 1, the Chicago Sky forward’s first signature shoe, Reebok has launched a new video campaign titled “Fuel.”
Narrated by Reese herself, the new visual draws inspiration from Reese’s unique journey as a basketball superstar and a cultural influencer. Without question, the two-time WNBA All-Star is not letting all the negative criticism stop her from living her best life.
“Noise. Headlines. Hashtags. They talk like they know me, like they built me, but I board anyway,” Reeses says in the visual.
“They call it the ‘Hate Train.’ I call it the warm up. Every stop, more opinions, more pressure, more reasons why I'm not supposed to be here, but I show up. Not for them, for the work,” she continued. “I don't ride the hate train. I drive it and I own the tracks. This is Angel Reese 1 by Reebok.”
In a statement, Reese spoke about the creative vision of the campaign.
“Every comment, every doubt—it all fuels me on the court,” Reese said in a press release. “At the same time, I draw energy from my teammates, my family, and everyone who believes in me. ‘Fuel’ is about rising above the negativity and turning it into strength.”
“Fuel is about embracing the noise, owning it, and turning it into power every time I step on the court,” Reese concluded.
Off the court, Reese is transcending sports as an entrepreneur across fashion, business, and philanthropy with the Angel C. Reese Foundation, which recently hosted a back-to-school event in Chicago, and gave away 2,000 backpacks and school supplies to local youth.
Coming in three colorways, the all-new Angel Reese 1 Basketball Shoes go on sale tomorrow on Reebok.com at 1010 AM EST.
