Angel Reese is not only one of the biggest stars of the WNBA, but she has also immersed herself in the city of Chicago.

On Saturday (August 16), Reese hosted a back-to-school event at International Sports Chicago on the Northwest Side.

During the event, attendees enjoyed free food and entertainment, and 2,000 backpacks were given away in partnership with the Angel Reese Foundation and Reebok. Additionally, the Summer Jam included a free visit to the salon so that students start school on Monday (August 18) with a fresh hairstyle.

Taking to Instagram, the foundation expressed its excitement about impacting the students of Chicago.

“2,000 students. 2,000 reasons to celebrate!⭐️Our Back-to-School Bash was a true community effort, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing partners, sponsors, community organizations, and volunteers,” the post read.

“A special thank you to @reebok for powering this event — and to @chase, @payawaythelayaway, & @lesterconey for standing with us to make sure every student starts the school year ready to succeed,” the post continued.

Dr. Diane Castro, CTU elementary functional vice president, was in attendance to support the event.

"We are always really excited to give back to the community for our students, our families. We love having them out here," Castro said.

Along with giving back to the children of Chicago, her highly anticipated show, the “Angel Reese 1 “ by Reebok, will drop on Sept. 18 on Reebok.com and at sneaker retailers.

Going for $120, the “Angel Reese 1 “comes in three colorways: all-white "Diamond Dust", pink-colored "Mebounds", and black and white "Receipts Ready.”
