Meek Mill's Guide for the Recently Single: A Look at His Post-Breakup Instagram Posts

After deleting his account for two weeks, Meek is back.

In the age of Instagram, moving on from a breakup can be much more difficult than it needs to be. While it's not always easy to push on after a relationship runs its course, this can be made especially more trying if your former partner is actively updating their accounts online like nothing has changed; is still friends with all your friends so they end up on your timeline even if you unfollowed them; and if (and when) the temptation to lurk gets the best of your better judgment. Even if you smashed the block button with confidence, when there's a will to creep on an ex, there's a way and this is something we all have been guilty of whether we want to admit it or not.

Considering this goes both ways, making sure your presence is on point is also part of the game. If they're possibly going to be low key glimpsing at your page, you may as well make sure there's something there to get them in their feelings, right? Sigh, what a time to be alive.

While the desire to flex on Instagram in the ever-so-likely assumption that an ex will be looking often takes precedence and, let's face it, we all do it. Anyone who tells you such a thought about showing off online hasn't crossed their minds at one point or another is a liar. The best revenge is living well, and in the meantime, the illusion of living well can double as a coping mechanism. When it comes to relationships in the year 2017, subconsciously or openly, we all want to "win" the breakup. That even goes for Meek Mill.

With all eyes on every stage of the very public (and curiously private) relationship between the Philadelphia rapper and Nicki Minaj, Meek himself has succumbed to pressure several times, deleting his entire account each time when things went sour, just to resurface a couple weeks later. With Meek being handed L after L by Drake via an ongoing beef that Minaj herself has wanted nothing to do with, it appears as though her recent reunion with Drizzy and Lil Wayne, combined with her matter-of-fact clarification on Twitter that she is officially single, means that their breakup is as real as ever.

True to tradition, Meek recently deactivated his Instagram account for just over two weeks, later going on to make up for lost time by posting over 20 images during his first 24 hours back on the platform. Regardless of whether or not Meek has found himself walking away from the modern day rap fairytale still in his feelings, he's still doing his best to act accordingly, assuming his role in success theater, with Instagram being his stage of choice.

Although ironic given this particular cast, Drake has provided millennial culture with an endless supply of beyond-fitting Instagram captions, including some that Meek Mill himself could borrow these days. Let's take a look to see how Meek Mill is doing following his unfortunate split from Nicki Minaj. Whether he's throwing subliminal shade or trying to have fun with his boys, here’s Meek Mill’s guide to using Instagram post-breakup.

  1. We had to further examine the situation because, Of course, the internet took it here:

  2. Keep it Strictly Business

His first post since deleting his Instagram account was related to promoting his first show of the new year. Always best to keep it strictly business, at least in the beginning.

  3. Still Smile, No Matter What

No caption needed. He's doing just fine.

  4. Flexing for the 'Gram, Vol. 1

Caption: "Don't you wanna live lavish?"

  5. Only Listen to This Kind of Mood Music

He's not about to Drake and drive to his ex's mansion, as the kids say these days.

  6. Use Song Lyrics to Make Your Point

He kept it subtle by quoting 6lack, writing, "Thought u was down to earth... but you want da got damn sky,"and adding a grin emoji.

  7. Be strategic with your #TBTs

Is this a TBT with Nicki cropped out? Certainly looks like it. One user commented how he looks lonely without Minaj by his favorite side — courtside. Good times.

  8. WTF, Meek?!

Proof he's using no filter now that he doesn't have Minaj to impress. Bruh...

  9. Finally! Post An Inspirational Quote

We were all waiting for one of these to surface.

  10. Keep it up to interpretation

Meek posted a candid shot of him in the club, captioning the image, "When they changed they was all surprised but me." Tell us more, please. Go on.

  11. That's the spirit!

Back in the studio and not giving up. This one we can appreciate. Do you, boo.

  12. Aha, here we go

Meek captions this one, "And I can't trust nooooobody!" Aww. Alone on the stoop, where arguably some of the best thinking is done.

  13. Reminder, Life is Too Short Not to Have Fun

For the Super Bowl, Meek Mill didn't let recently being dumped dim his shine, having some fun with his "new baby!"

  14. Flexing for the 'Gram, Vol. 2

Nothing like flying private to send a message that you're getting by just fine.

  15. Choose wisely

No surprise Meek reposted this meme. Mmmhmmm.

  16. Always Keep 'Em Guessing

What is going on here, Meek? Caption reads, "Let's talk about it."

  17. When Memes Save the Day

Gotta love memes. Maybe it's not that serious. Either way, we're currently laughing out loud.

  18. Another Motivational Quote Won't Hurt

    He's out here learning lessons.

  19. Add fuel to the fire

Although Meek Mill claimed he had nothing to do with Nicki Minaj's home recently being robbed, this selfie is suspect.

  20. Study the Game

    Takes two to play, right?

  21. Know you can handle whatever life throws at you

Gotta end this Instagram guide on a positive note. Although we were #TeamOmeeka, we got your back, too, Meek.

  22. Wait, a minute. We were doing so good!

But it was Valentine's Day, after all. You do get some passes post-breakup.

  23. As for Nicki? See below

When you’re lurking and you find exactly what you knew you would. Siiiigh.
