Must-See: BET Honors 2013 Honoree Halle Berry Stars in The Call

The Oscar winner takes on a killer to save a girl's life in her latest film.

Halle Berry has played everything from historical Hollywood icons to superheroes to women battling back from life’s hard knocks. But the Academy Award winning actress is always fascinating when she stars in movie thrillers. Her latest in the genre is titled The Call.

In the film, Berry portrays Jordan Turner, a veteran 911 operator who takes a life-altering phone call from a teenage girl (Abigail Breslin), who has just been kidnapped. The movie takes one nail-biting turn after another as Jordan realizes in order to save the girl’s life, she must confront a killer from her own past.

Berry, who will be celebrated for her tireless philanthropy work at the BET Honors 2013 is joined in the film by costars Morris Chestnut and Jennifer Hudson’s fiancé David Otunga.

The BET Honors 2013 airs tonight at 9pm/8C on BET.

The Call arrives in theaters on March 15, 2013.
