The First Lady of Young Money surpasses Eminem in followers.
Since closing out the year by performing at Dick Clark's renown New Year's Rocking Eve, Nicki Minaj has kicked off 2012 by adding another title to her belt.
According to KarenCivil.com, as of January 4, Minaj has become the most followed rapper on Twitter, beating out the previous title holder Eminem. With her allegiant crew of 8,175,598 followers the Queens-bred hip-pop star surpassed @Eminem's 8,160,476 followers. Minaj uses the social networking tool to communicate directly to her fans, whom she refers to as "Barbies" and "Kens".
In addition to being the reigning queen of hip hop on the Twitter scene, the Grammy-nominated rapper has been noted for her success on the pop charts and numerous notable features.
Minaj's debut album Pink Friday was recently certified double platinum by the RIAA. Her sophomore project Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is expected in stores February 14.
