J. Cole Shows Love to Big K.R.I.T. and Kendrick Lamar

The Roc Nation rapper discusses his favorite new rappers.

J. Cole has nothing but love for his fellow up-and-coming rappers. On the first stop of his Campus Consciousness tour, Cole discussed his respect for fellow BET Music Matters artist Big K.R.I.T. and Kendrick Lamar with the Rap-Up.

"I'm just a fan of K.R.I.T.'s period, really from the first time I heard about him," said Cole of his tour mate. "I think one of my homeboys was telling me, 'Yo he produces. He raps.' So right away, anybody that does that, I'm instantly rooting for them."

Cole also talked about Compton MC Kendrick Lamar, with whom he worked with on a yet-to-be released joint mixtape

"I've been a big Kendrick Lamar fan from when we met," said the Roc Nation rapper. "I know fans, especially my fans, are like, 'When you gon' drop the Kendrick Lamar joint?' That will absolutely happen, but you gotta give it time, you gotta give him time to get where he wanna be."

J. Cole's Campus Consciousness tour continues tonight at University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and ends on May 4 in South Orange, New Jersey.
