Usher Tops Billboard 200 with Looking 4 Myself
A week after the release of his seventh studio album, Usher finds himself in a familiar position. The R&B superstar’s latest LP, Looking 4 Myself, is No. 1 on the Billboard albums chart, selling 128,000 in its first week. Although the number is significantly down from the opening week of his last album, 2010's Raymond vs. Raymond, which moved over 300,000 copies, it still has the distinction of being his fourth straight album to top the charts.
Soon Usher may be looking up to his protégé Justin Bieber, who is expected to have a record-setting opening with the release of his highly-anticipated album Believe. Biebs sophomore album hit stores on Tuesday [June 19] and is projected to possibly be the biggest debut of the year.
Usher will join G.O.O.D. Music, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz and Chris Brown in the line up of performers at the 2012 BET Awards which air Sunday, July 1 on BET and Centric.
