As DJ Mister Cee wades through the waters of yet another sex scandal, the veteran spinner can count Big Daddy Kane as one of his many supporters. In an interview with Vibe.com, the legendary rapper had nothing but kind words.

"I support Cee," Kane said of his longtime friend. "He is somebody I met in high school and I got down with his rap crew. Eventually it became just me and Cee rocking together at parties in Brooklyn. We stuck with it and when Biz Markie got me my deal I brought Cee with me and we rode it out. We rocked together from '84 to '95. Once Cee got settled in at Hot 97, I knew he couldn't balance touring with me anymore. But Cee has always supported me. And I've always supported him, and that’s not going to change because of today. What he said on-air was real. I support the brother and I'm going to always be his friend."

Cee resigned from his 20-year-gig at Hot 97 last week, just after a video of him trying to solicit oral sex from a male cross-dresser leaked online. A day later he made a tearful return to the radio station and fessed up to the encounter, but denied being gay.

Kane doesn’t know if the Brooklyn native's emotional admission will help end homophobia in hip hop, he’s just happy Cee came clean. "I'm glad he [came out with the truth] because that's the only way you can be at peace with yourself. Hopefully Cee is at peace and he don't have to worry about what people think about his persona or his personal life. He can just get on the turntables and do what he's been doing, which is entertaining the people."

Earlier in the week, Cee recorded a PSA for the AIDS Health Organization, saying in part that opening up about his sexuality was "the most difficult thing" he's ever done. "I am choosing to speak for myself and a new sexual revolution," Cee said in the clip. "You don't have to be afraid, but you do have to be careful and protect yourself."

Prior to his most recent ill-fated prostitution scandal, Cee was arrested for trying to get fellatio from an undercover cop in Brooklyn, and has been busted three times for similar offenses.
