Ace Bailey Parts Ways with Manager Following Controversial NBA Draft Moves
Ace Bailey, rookie forward of the Utah Jazz, has parted ways with manager Omar Cooper and is seeking a new management team.
According to ESPN, Bailey cut ties with Cooper after he reportedly advised him not to work out for several teams that wanted to select him in the 2025 NBA draft.
At the time, Bailey and his team wanted to be drafted by the Washington Wizards, but with the fifth pick, the Jazz selected him under the direction of president of basketball operations Austin Ainge.
Per reports, Cooper made it known that Bailey would not report to the Jazz but eventually took part in summer league games with the Jazz. Although he was not a certified agent, Cooper acted as the point person for Bailey during the 2025 NBA Draft.
In his only season at Rutgers, Bailey averaged 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Scarlet Knights.
Bailey will be competing for a starting spot in Jazz coach Will Hardy's lineup that will include Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier, Cody Williams, Walter Clayton Jr. and Kyle Filipowski.
