The celebration brought out several familiar faces from the gridiron, including Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, who was spotted among the guests supporting his teammate.

The wedding is the culmination of a relationship that became public in November 2023. While the exact start of their journey remains private, Penix Jr. has been open about his appreciation for Carter. In a heartfelt social media post for her birthday in December 2023, he thanked her for staying by his side through the various highs and lows of his career, noting that she always managed to keep a smile on his face.

Carter, a former soccer player for the University of Nevada, grew up in Kent, Washington. She is the daughter of Christopher Carter and Regina Carter and was raised alongside her two brothers, Quincy Carter and Theo Carter. Before her collegiate days in Nevada, she attended Renton High School and later graduated from Kent-Meridian.

The personal milestone comes as Penix Jr works toward a return to the field for the 2026 NFL season. During the 2025 campaign, the quarterback appeared in nine games, throwing for 1,982 yards and nine touchdowns while recording a 60.1% completion rate. His season was cut short in November 2025 due to a partial ACL tear. Atlanta head coach Kevin Stefanski recently noted that the team would monitor his progress throughout the summer before determining his status for the upcoming season opener.
