Rashee Rice Sprints Out Of Jail To Outrun The Media

The dramatic exit follows a monthlong stint behind bars sparked by a failed drug test linked to his 2024 highway crash.

If you thought you’d see a standard post-jail press conference from Rashee Rice, think again. The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver officially wrapped up his 30-day stint in the Dallas County jail on Tuesday, June 16, and let's just say he was in a hurry to leave.

Footage from local media caught the whole thing, and it looked like a scene straight out of an action movie. Rashee Rice, 26, walked out of the building with his hoodie pulled all the way up, trying to walk backward to avoid a clean shot of his face. When reporters started shouting questions, asking if he had anything to say to his fans, Rice didn't say a word. Instead, he took off sprinting down the street. Reporters were literally chasing after him with microphones and cameras until he finally jumped into a Range Rover and sped off.

If you’re wondering how he landed in jail in the first place, it goes back to a probation violation. A Dallas County judge ordered him to serve 30 days back on May 19 after he tested positive for THC. That positive test violated the plea agreement he signed in July 2025, which gave him five years of probation.

That probation stemmed from a major high-speed crash on a Dallas highway back on March 30, 2024. Police reports showed that Rice and a friend were racing down the highway at speeds up to 120 mph. Rice lost control of a Lamborghini, slammed into the center median wall, and caused a chain-reaction crash that wrecked four other cars.

Rice is heading into his fourth season with Kansas City, and he’s been an intricate piece of their offense. So far, neither the Chiefs nor the NFL have said anything new about what this means for his spot on the team or if he’s going to face more discipline from the league office.
