Tiger Woods Stays Non-Committal On Masters Return

Following a semifinal upset by his TGL team, Jupiter Links, Tiger Woods discussed the physical challenges he continues to face after his October back surgery.

Tiger Woods provided a realistic assessment of his physical condition Tuesday night, noting that his health remains inconsistent as the Masters approaches. Speaking with reporters after his TGL team, Jupiter Links, secured a spot in the league finals, the 15-time major champion remained non-committal about his status for Augusta National.

"I said I've been working on it," Woods said regarding his preparation for the season's first major. "Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days. Disk replacement is not a lot of fun."

The 50-year-old underwent lumbar disk replacement surgery in October, marking the seventh back procedure of his career. This followed a March 2025 surgery to repair a ruptured left Achilles. While he had previously hinted at a potential return during the Genesis Invitational in February, his latest comments highlighted the ongoing toll of his recent medical history.

"I've had a lot of procedures prior to that, so the body doesn't quite heal like it was when I was 24," Woods said. "Doesn't quite bounce back. So I have good days when I can pretty much do anything, and other days where it's hard to just to move around."

Despite his personal competitive hiatus, Woods has remained visible as the manager of Jupiter Links. The team, which entered the postseason as the No. 4 seed, earned an upset victory over Boston Common on Tuesday to advance to the finals against Los Angeles.

Woods last competed in a sanctioned event at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon. While he remains on the official invite list for the Masters—a tournament he has won five times—his participation remains dependent on his day-to-day physical progress.
