Reese became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 career rebounds on Saturday night, helping the Atlanta Dream secure a 113-96 victory over the Indiana Fever. The third-year center reached the milestone in her 79th career game, surpassing the previous record of 89 games set by Tina Charles.

The record-breaking moment happened in front of more than 17,000 fans at State Farm Arena when Reese grabbed an offensive rebound with 4:29 remaining in the third quarter. She finished the game with 18 points and eight rebounds, though she also picked up a Flagrant 1 foul during a physical play in the paint late in the fourth quarter.

She explained that while defensive rebounds can be a bit easier to secure, crashing the glass for offensive rebounds takes a different level of effort. Reese emphasized that those extra possessions benefit the entire roster, giving her teammates more opportunities to score.

The performance highlights how quickly Reese has fit in with Atlanta since being acquired in an April trade with the Chicago Sky. She entered the weekend as one of only three WNBA players averaging a double-double this season, sitting at 15.1 points and 12.2 rebounds per game alongside Jessica Shepard of the Dallas Wings and Aneesah Morrow of the Connecticut Sun.

With the win, the Dream improved to 11-4, tying the Las Vegas Aces for the second-best record in the league behind the Minnesota Lynx. Atlanta's 113 points against Indiana also established a new franchise single-game scoring record.
