Lamar Jackson Says Buffalo Bills Fan Had Too Much To Drink
Not only did the Baltimore Ravens suffer a stunning 41-40 defeat by the Buffalo Bills, but Lamar Jackson got into an altercation with a fan at Highmark Stadium.
After Jackson threw a touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins, a Bills fan in a red jersey reached over and slapped the helmets of both players as they celebrated. In response, Jackson shoved the fan, sending him backward. The fan was immediately ejected from the stadium and later banned indefinitely from all NFL stadiums.
In a statement, the NFL said that "any fan that engages in unruly and disruptive behavior will lose the privilege of attending NFL games. Penalties can include ejection, banishment from NFL games and events, and legal action."
“He slapped me,” Jackson said during his postgame news conference. “He was steadily talking. So, I forgot where I was.”
Although the fan was ejected from the game, Jackson seemed to regret his response.
“You’ve got to think in those situations,” he said. “You’ve got security out there. Let security handle it. But I just let my emotion get the best of me. Hopefully, it’ll never happen again.”
“I've never seen our fans do that. So, I'll probably do it again when we score a touchdown,” he continued. “It's not nothing against the fans. I'm just celebrating when my teammates get a touchdown."
In the locker room after the game, Jackson blamed the incident on the fan being inebriated.
“If I remembered, I would have told y’all,” Jackson said.“He probably had a couple of beers.”
Next up for Jackson and the Ravens are the Cleveland Browns, who they’ll face at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Saturday, September 14, 2025.
