The Final Six Are In: Who Grabs The Top Spot For The Unrivaled Playoffs?
The Unrivaled women’s 3-on-3 regular season is winding down with the postseason picture finally coming into focus. On Monday night, Vinyl BC became the sixth and final team to secure a spot in the playoff bracket, defeating the Lunar Owls 75-68. The victory officially eliminated both the Lunar Owls and Hive from contention. Vinyl BC joins the Phantom, Laces, Mist, Breeze, and Rose in the quest for the title.
Rae Burrell delivered a standout performance to ensure her team’s postseason future, finishing the night with 30 points. The scoring output marked her first 30-point game for Unrivaled and came just two nights after she set a career-high of 24 points.
Playoff seeding will be finalized during the final night of the regular season on Friday, Feb. 27. Currently, the Phantom hold a two-game lead over the Laces for the coveted top seed. The Mist remain in close pursuit, trailing the Laces by only a half-game. In the middle of the pack, the Breeze maintain a narrow half-game lead over the Rose for the fourth spot, while Vinyl BC sits two games back in sixth.
The playoff structure features three rounds of single-elimination games. The team that secures the No. 1 seed earns a first-round bye, advancing directly to the semifinals. Those semifinal matchups will take place on March 2 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The move to a larger venue follows the league's success in Philadelphia earlier this year, which set an attendance record for professional women's basketball.
Following the semifinals in New York, the action returns to Miami for the championship game on March 4 at Sephora Arena. Beyond the prestige of the title, the winning players will compete for a share of a $600,000 prize pool. The first round of the playoffs is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Feb. 28, immediately following the conclusion of the regular season.
