New Evidence Reveals Pattern Of Harassment Before James Pearce Jr. Allegedly Rammed WNBA Star’s Car
Newly released police records indicate a pattern of alleged harassment leading up to the arrest of Atlanta Falcons linebacker James Pearce Jr.. According to 911 call logs and incident reports obtained by ESPN, an unidentified woman described as Pearce’s ex-girlfriend contacted authorities at least seven times in the weeks preceding a violent confrontation involving WNBA player Rickea Jackson.
The records reveal a series of escalating domestic disturbance calls to a residence in Doral, Florida, between November and February. On Jan. 13, officers specifically instructed Pearce Jr. to stay away from the home and remove his belongings. However, police were called back to the same address multiple times later that month.
During one encounter on the evening of Jan. 28, a woman at the residence told police she was "in fear" after the front door was damaged. According to the police report, the woman identified Pearce as the individual attempting to enter. She ultimately opted to stay at a hotel that night to avoid further conflict. Earlier that same day, officers responded in "emergency mode" to a reported daytime burglary at the home. The heavily-redacted report listed a woman as "Ms. Jackson," who told authorities she witnessed Pearce leaving the scene.
The documentation also points to a Nov. 24 incident where the woman alleged Pearce arrived at her home late at night, repeatedly calling her landline and knocking on the door. She claimed at the time that Pearce owed her $70,000 and was visiting regarding the debt. By Feb. 2, a security guard for the woman informed police that Pearce had been stalking his client and was spotted at the residence on multiple occasions.
These events culminated in a Feb. 7 incident in which Pearce allegedly used a white Lamborghini SUV to ram a vehicle driven by Jackson. She told investigators that Pearce followed her and attempted to open her car door at a red light. When she tried to drive toward the Doral Police Department for safety, she alleged that Pearce intentionally collided with the rear of her car and later struck her vehicle head-on to block her path.
Pearce Jr. currently faces five felony charges, including aggravated stalking, fleeing and eluding, and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Jackson’s legal team has filed notice that the WNBA athlete is willing to testify against him if the case goes to trial.
The Atlanta Falcons have declined to comment on the matter.
