You Won't Believe What Jalen Brunson Tried To Trade For Michael Rainey Jr.’s Watch
The New York Knicks championship parade was exactly the movie you thought it would be, but Jalen Brunson almost walked away from the celebration without the Larry O'Brien trophy for the most hilarious reason.
While walking the parade route and soaking in the hardware, Brunson spotted actor Michael Rainey Jr. filming him from the crowd. Brunson started smiling, but his face completely changed when he looked down and peeped the crazy expensive Audemars Piguet watch on the Power star's wrist. Right then and there, Brunson jokingly asked Rainey if he wanted to trade the watch for the Knicks' brand-new championship trophy.
Rainey was down for the swap immediately and told the guard he didn't even need to give up the trophy for it.
"You can have this," Rainey laughed in the clip. "On God, you can have this. I’m taking it off my wrist right now."
Rainey then started chanting "MVP" at the point guard, which is well deserved. Brunson took home the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award after dropping buckets on the San Antonio Spurs.
Brunson dominated the 2026 NBA Finals, putting up 32.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game. His spectacular five-game performance carried the New York Knicks to a 4-1 series victory over the San Antonio Spurs, making him the unanimous choice for Finals MVP.
