A’ja Wilson And Angel Reese Have Dwyane Wade’s Daughter Kaavia Locked In
Kaavia James Wade is putting in work on the court, and she has some prominent mentorship backing her development.
The 7-year-old daughter of actress Gabrielle Union and retired NBA player Dwyane Wade shared a video on her Instagram account showcasing an individual basketball training session. In the video, she runs through a variety of fundamentals alongside a trainer on what appears to be the family's private outdoor court.
The social media post credited two of the top WNBA players with motivating her to lock in on her athletic training. The caption read, "@aja22wilson & Angel Reese told me to work hard," alongside a muscle emoji, tagging the official WNBA account.
During the clip, which features the Lil' Bow Wow track "Basketball" playing in the background, the young athlete runs through a series of drills. She works on her ball-handling by practicing crossover moves, drives to the basket for layups, and practices her shooting form from various spots on the floor, including the free-throw line and beyond the 3-point arc.
It did not take long for the professional athletes mentioned in the caption to notice the effort and offer their support in the comment section. Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson responded to the training video by leaving a pair of supportive emojis: "🫶🏽✨".
Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese also chimed in with words of encouragement for her young mentee, writing, "my girl is a beautiful baller," followed by two heart-eyes emojis.
With a three-time NBA champion for a father and direct encouragement from prominent names in women's professional basketball, the young sports enthusiast is getting strong guidance as she learns the game.
