Former LSU, NFL Star Leonard Fournette Gets Engaged
There’s a new ring in Leonard Fournette’s household that just may put the Super Bowl ring he earned in 2020 to shame. We doubt that bothers him or his new fiancée after seeing the hardware she just landed from the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back.
Fournette announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Jaime Jones on Instagram on Tuesday, though People reports he actually popped the question on March 1. Front and center in the social post is the eye-popping 4.04-carat diamond that Fournette gave his betrothed.
The post is also captioned with the Bible verse Proverbs 18:22: “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the lord…..”
It’s not clear how long the pair have been a couple, but they share an 11-year-old daughter named Lyric, and possibly another that Fournette has mentioned on social media without naming, per People. They met reportedly via Jones’ brother.
Though he hasn’t officially retired, Fournette last played in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills in the 2023 season. He was drafted by the Jags in 2017 after a collegiate career in which he became LSU’s fourth all-time leading rusher and set its single-season record for rushing yards in 2015. In the NFL, he rushed for a total of 4,518 yards and 34 touchdowns in a career in which he earned $42.9 million, according to Spotrac.
Fournette was on the 202 Bucs team that won Super Bowl LV, 31-9. In that game, he put up an impressive statline, rushing for 89 yards on 16 carries, with one touchdown.
