'I Have Had Enough': Rashee Rice’s Ex-Girlfriend Alleges Years of Abuse as Chiefs Acknowledge Claims
The Kansas City Chiefs confirmed Wednesday they are aware of serious domestic violence allegations involving wide receiver Rashee Rice after his former girlfriend shared a series of disturbing posts on social media.
In a statement released Wednesday night, the team acknowledged the situation but stopped short of naming the 25-year-old receiver directly. "The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League," the Chiefs said. "We have no further comment at this time."
The allegations surfaced on Instagram Wednesday afternoon when Dacoda Nichole Jones, Rice’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his two children, posted a gallery of images showing physical injuries, including bruising on her face and body, along with photos of a disheveled home and a broken door.
While Jones did not use Rice's name in her captions, she described the alleged abuser as the father of her children and detailed a pattern of abuse spanning eight years.
"I’m so tired of keeping quiet. I’m so tired of protecting his image," Jones wrote. She went on to allege that the abuse occurred even during her pregnancies and included instances of being locked out of her home in freezing temperatures. "He tries to put on this persona like he’s dad of the year... I’ve protected his image too long and I’m done doing that."
As of Thursday morning, authorities in Overland Park, Kansas, and Dallas have reported that no formal police reports have been filed regarding the social media posts. Rice’s representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment.
This latest controversy follows a turbulent year for Rice. The second-round pick served a six-game suspension at the start of the 2025 season for his role in a 2024 high-speed street racing crash in Dallas that left multiple people injured. In July 2025, Rice pleaded guilty to two felony charges related to that incident and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation.
The NFL typically conducts its own independent investigations into allegations of domestic violence under its personal conduct policy. A baseline suspension for such violations is six games, though previous disciplinary history can lead to enhanced penalties.
Rice remains on the Chiefs' active roster as the league and the team continue to monitor the situation.
