Chrisean Rock Earns Respect From Claressa Shields After Victory In Debut
Chrisean Rock took her talents from the screen to the ring this weekend, walking away with a victory in her professional boxing debut. Competing in front of an energetic crowd in Philadelphia, Rock secured the XRumble Fighting Championship after a hard-fought battle against Zenith Zion, a competitor known for her background in professional wrestling and Power Slap.
The rapper and reality star, born Chrisean Malone, made an immediate impression in the opening round. Malone connected with a sharp right hand that dropped Zion, setting a physical tone for the rest of the night. While the official tally included a knockdown for Zion later in the fight, replays suggested the moment was actually a slip, though the call on the floor stood during the live action.
Throughout the three-round contest, Malone remained composed despite the pressure of the debut. She focused on landing cleaner, more impactful punches to separate herself from Zion, who stayed aggressive and looked for openings in the clinch. Zion had her moments of momentum, but Malone’s power and ability to adjust to the speed of the fight kept her in control.
The judges ultimately delivered a split decision, with scores of 30–29, 29–30, and 29–28 in favor of Malone.
Following the hand-raise, Malone received public support from one of the greatest to ever do it. Multi-division champion Claressa Shields reached out on social media to congratulate Malone on her hard work. Malone responded with humility, acknowledging that she is still a student of the game. She noted that the sport requires a specific level of mental and physical toughness, stating she has plenty of work left to do to sharpen her skills.
