Tyrese Haliburton Announces Engagement To Jade Jones
Indiana Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend Jade Jones.
In a post on Instagram, the couple announced their engagement.
“The place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins” the couple’s joint post read, adorned with a heart and ring emoji.
Haliburton staged the proposal inside Hilton Coliseum, the home of the Iowa State Cyclones. The Cyclones’ gym was beautifully decorated with light-up letters that said, “Will you marry me?”
It was at Iowa State where Haliburton and Jones began dating. He was the star player on the college basketball team, and she was a cheerleader.
The news comes as Haliburton is still recovering from a torn Achilles tendon that he injured during Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He will miss the entire 2025-2026 NBA season after having a successful surgery in June.
During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this month, Haliburton revealed that Kevin Durant, who suffered a torn Achilles during the NBA Finals in 2019, came to his home as he recovered.
“K.D. actually came and visited me the other day, came to my house, which was pretty cool," Haliburton said. "We sat down for a while, just talked, and that was pretty cool. I think that for me, it's just about trying to get my mental right. That's why I'm trying to -- you know, I go to all the [Indiana] Fever games, I try to just figure out things to do to keep my mind off things. I got a great village, a great support system in my family and my friends, and I'm just doing everything I can."
"It's funny, K.D. has said he's tired of being the Achilles guy," Haliburton continued. "But I think it's just how it had to happen, because not many guys have been able to come back and play at such a high level. He's been kind of the poster child of that in our game, so I think it's easy for all of us to just reach out to him.”
