NFL Suspends Vikings WR Jordan Addison for Three Games For DUI
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison will be suspended for the first three games of the 2025 season after violating the league's substance abuse policy.
According to CBS Sports, Addison will miss games against the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, and the Cincinnati Bengals.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Vikings confirmed Addison’s suspension.
“The NFL has announced WR Jordan Addison has been suspended without pay for the first three games of the 2025 regular season for violating the NFL’s Substances of Abuse Policy,” the Vikings said.
“Addison is permitted to participate in all training camp activities, including preseason games, without restriction,” the post continued.
The suspension stems from Addison's arrest in July 2024 on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. After being in custody for two hours following his arrest, he was released and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol content over California's legal limit of 0.8 percent. Both were misdemeanors.
Last month, Addison agreed to a plea of a lesser charge and settled the case out of court.
Back in 2023, Addison was stopped for speeding and reckless driving after allegedly “going 140 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone at 3 a.m.” Eventually, he pleaded guilty to a petty misdemeanor, where his driver's license was temporarily revoked and he had to pay a fine.
In two seasons with the Vikings, Addison has played in all 34 games, with 133 receptions for 1786 yards and 20 touchdowns.
