Miles Bridges Demands Psych Exam For Mother Of His Children
Miles Bridges has filed a request with a judge to order his former girlfriend, Mychelle Johnson, to undergo a psychological evaluation. In court documents obtained by TMZ, the NBA player alleges that Johnson has exhibited erratic behavior and maintains an "obsessive fixation" on his current partner.
The filing claims that Johnson has prioritized personal grievances over the needs of the four children she shares with the Charlotte Hornets forward. Bridges further alleged that Johnson has initiated emotionally charged communications during late-night and early-morning hours. In addition to the request for an evaluation, Bridges is seeking sole custody of their children.
The legal move follows a recent temporary restraining order granted by a Mecklenburg County judge to Bridges. That order was issued after an incident on March 21 at the Spectrum Center, where Johnson was accused of tampering with the tires on Bridges’ vehicle while he was dressed for a game. Security reports indicate that a witness identified Johnson in the parking garage, but she fled the scene when confronted.
These developments add another chapter to a long-standing legal history between the two parties. In 2022, Bridges pleaded no contest to one felony count of injuring a child’s parent following allegations from Johnson that included physical assault. As part of a deal with prosecutors, two additional felony counts of child abuse were dismissed, and Bridges was sentenced to three years of probation.
While subsequent domestic violence charges from a separate incident were dropped by prosecutors earlier this year due to a lack of evidence to proceed to trial, the tension between the former couple has remained at the forefront of the athlete's off-court life. In the current filing, Bridges also accused Johnson of threatening to leak private information about him, a claim that Johnson has denied.
Attorneys for Bridges, led by Sean Lindsey, filed the emergency motion in April, emphasizing the need for court intervention regarding Johnson's alleged conduct. A judge has not yet ruled on the request for the psychological examination.
