Video Captures LaMelo Ball In Two-Car Accident In Charlotte

Viral clips circulating on social media detail a wreck involving a signature camouflage SUV. One person reportedly sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball was involved in a two-car accident in Uptown Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon, according to local authorities and eyewitness reports. The incident occurred at the busy intersection of Trade and Tryon streets as the guard drove a custom-wrapped 2022 GMC Hummer EV.

Footage obtained by WSOC-TV shows the  Hummer traveling west on Trade Street before attempting a left turn into the path of oncoming traffic. The vehicle collided with a gray Kia sedan heading east. The impact was significant enough to dislodge the front left wheel of the Hummer and cause extensive damage to both vehicles.

While Ball appeared to escape the wreck without any physical injuries, the driver of the Kia was reportedly treated for minor injuries. Witnesses at the scene observed Ball exiting the damaged SUV from the driver's side. Shortly after the collision, a second video captured the star entering a Lamborghini and leaving the scene.

The crash took place as the NBA prepared to return from the All-Star break. The Hornets have not released an official statement regarding the accident. Ball has been a central figure in the team's recent success, helping the franchise maintain a competitive edge in the Eastern Conference. The Hornets, carrying a 26-29 record, are scheduled to meet the Houston Rockets at home on Thursday.
