Shedeur Sanders Honors Deion At His Graduation
Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was back in Boulder on Saturday to walk across the stage and collect his degree in sociology. The graduation marks a major milestone for the former Buffaloes star, who spent two seasons leading the program before heading to the NFL.
Before the ceremony kicked off, Sanders hopped on social media to share the moment with his classmates. He kept the message short and sweet, telling his followers that being there was all about excellence.
In a move that quickly went viral, Sanders also took a moment to pay tribute to his father, Deion Sanders. He recreated the famous photo of the Hall of Famer from Super Bowl XXIX, where he laid out his 49ers uniform in the locker room. This time, Shedeur laid out his graduation cap and gown to mirror his father's look.
His journey to graduation included two seasons at Jackson State followed by two years at Colorado. Sanders made a lasting impact on the Buffaloes, and the school even retired his jersey number in April 2025 as he prepared for the draft.
Since being picked up by the Browns as the 144th overall selection in 2025, Sanders has stayed busy. During his first year in Cleveland, he played in eight games and threw for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns.
It has been a productive offseason for the quarterback so far. On top of finishing his degree, Sanders recently went back to his roots by switching his jersey to No. 2, the number he wore throughout his collegiate career, after wearing No. 12 during his first months in Cleveland.
