The Players With The Most To Gain At The 2026 NFL Combine

More than 300 elite prospects head to Indianapolis to prove they have the physical traits to climb into the NFL Draft's first round.

The 2025-2026 season is officially over and all eyes are on the 2026 NFL draft as more than 300 prospects arrive at Lucas Oil Stadium for the NFL Scouting Combine. This is the weekend where the highlights and game film meet the stopwatch and the measuring tape. For four days, the nation's top collegiate stars will undergo medical checks, sit down for team interviews, and finally hit the turf for the high-stakes drills that often dictate where a player lands on draft night.

The schedule kicks off Thursday at 3 p.m. ET with the defensive linemen and linebackers. Friday follows with the defensive backs and tight ends, leading into the highly anticipated Saturday session at 1 p.m. ET for quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs. The offensive linemen will close out the weekend with their workouts on Sunday.

One name generating early buzz is Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. After a monster season with 9.5 sacks, scouts are eager to see if his speed and arm length match his elite production. A strong 40-yard dash could solidify him as a lock for the top five picks.

Saturday’s quarterback session is shaping up to be a defining moment for Arkansas signal-caller Taylen Green. At 6-foot-6, he has the rare size and arm talent that makes pro scouts take notice, but his consistency in the passing game has been the big question. If he can show precision and better ball location during the throwing drills, he could easily climb into the first-round conversation. On the defensive side, Florida tackle Caleb Banks is looking to prove he’s fully recovered from a foot injury that sidelined him for most of 2025. After a solid Senior Bowl, a dominant athletic showing in Indy could put him back in the mix for the late first round.

As always, the "Freaks List" athletes are expected to provide the weekend’s biggest highlights. Keep an eye on Kentucky wideout Kendrick Law and Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq; both are expected to put up eye-popping numbers in the vertical and broad jumps. Meanwhile, Alabama’s Kadyn Proctor remains one of the most polarizing prospects in the class. At 366 pounds, his raw strength is undeniable, but scouts are desperate to see if his footwork and agility are quick enough to handle NFL speed on the edge. With wide receivers like Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell II aiming for a sub-4.4 speed, the next few days are guaranteed to cause some major shifts on the draft boards.
