Gilbert Arenas Interested In Hiring Joy Taylor for 'Gil's Arena'

Arenas is leading the charge to sign Taylor, the former FS1 “Speak” host, following shake-up at the network.

Gilbert Arenas would love to add Joy Taylor to his podcast roster.

Following the shake-up at Fox Sports 1 that caused the departure of Taylor and the cancellation of three daytime shows, the former NBA All-Star and now popular sports media personality was not shy about his desire to work with Taylor.

“Joy’s a great host,” Arenas said on his “No Chill Gil” Summer League stream, according to Awful Announcing. “I know we’re looking at her for the football side. We’ve been behind the scenes talking to her for the last year.”

Arenas also named Paul Pierce, Keyshawn Johnson, Taylor’s former co-hosts on Speak, and LeSean McCoy as other potential candidates to join his show.

“I can tell you this. As an underdog, we better move on some of them,” Arenas shared. “We can’t just look at this and be like, ‘Eh.’ Because let’s just say, Shannon [Sharpe] decides to get Keyshawn, Shady McCoy to “Nightcap”. … If Pat McAfee grabs just one of them, that’s a different show.

“It’s some moves that need to be made because these guys are going to go somewhere and they are going to get a home,” he continued. “And that will change the landscape of shows. I’m already on it as soon as I’ve seen it.”

Along with Speak, FS1 announced the cancellation of Breakfast Ball and The Facility

The massive shift in programming came about as the shows “struggled to find a huge audience, prompting the cancellations.”

Joy Taylor Out at Fox Sports 1 As The Network Cancels Three Shows

Over the past year, Taylor has been the subject of harassment allegations along with Charlie Dixon, a former top programming executive at FS1. Noushin Faraji, a former make-up artist at the network, accused Dixon of sexual battery, and also alleged that Taylor told her “to get over it.” Additionally, Faraji accused Taylor of having sexual relationships with Dixon as well as former co-host Emmanuel Acho to advance her career, and she allegedly mocked Faraji’s Persian ethnicity.

Taylor denied all accusations, and Dixion has been away from the network since April.
