Dallas Cowboys Honor Marshawn Kneeland with Intensity and Resolve

From pregame tributes to the final whistle, the team dedicated its powerful 33-16 victory to their fallen teammate.

The Dallas Cowboys took the field for the first time since the devastating death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, transforming a Monday night game against the Las Vegas Raiders into a solemn, yet powerful, testament to brotherhood.

The team poured raw emotion into their dominant 33-16 victory, ensuring that their first post-tragedy performance was a clear, collective tribute to their lost teammate.

The tributes were visible from the moment the team arrived. Players wore memorial shirts featuring Kneeland’s picture, and every helmet on the field bore a decal of his No. 94. Prior to kickoff, a moment of silence blanketed the stadium, giving way to the emotional rallying cry of quarterback Dak Prescott. NFL.com reported that Prescott could be heard telling his teammates in the huddle that the game was explicitly “Tonight’s about honoring our brother.”

Prescott, who himself has channeled personal tragedy into his public life, led the charge with a spectacular performance that included four touchdown passes. His wrist tape, etched simply with the phrase **“One love”—a signature expression of Kneeland’s—**served as a constant, personal reminder.

After the game, Prescott spoke with conviction about how the tragedy must redefine their mission, linking Kneeland's legacy to the team’s push for the championship.

“Just like Shotty said, ‘the honoring doesn't stop’ and, you know, honestly, when the season’s over, the honoring won’t stop,” Prescott said. “So, it's about intensifying everything that we do to carry the legacy of Marshawn. The discipline, the focus, the intensity, the aggressiveness—that's at practice. That will just carry over into the game.”

“More than anything, I know Marshawn was looking down on us, and we wanted to make him proud, and I think we did that,” Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer stated, adding that the team played “with Marshawn's play style.”

The victory was decisive, but the message was clearer: Marshawn Kneeland’s time with the Cowboys will forever be defined by his intensity and the unbreakable bond he fostered. As Prescott put it, they will continue to “move forward and shine light to Marshawn and carry his legacy. He'll always be with us.” The Cowboys have made it clear that their season is now dedicated to the late No. 94.
