Angel Reese Breaks The Internet With New Vogue Cover
Angel Reese has taken her talent global. The Chicago Sky forward recently surfaced as the digital cover star for Vogue Australia’s April 2026 issue, where she showcased her latest milestone: the Angel Reese 1 signature shoe in collaboration with Reebok.
The 23-year-old superstar, who is entering her third season in the WNBA, sat down with Vogue’s Gladys Lai to discuss her career and the "Unapologetically Angel" colorway of her AR1 sneakers, which are set to drop on Friday, March 27. Reese is the first WNBA player to receive a signature silhouette from Reebok in 29 years.
Reese’s journey to global icon status has been rapid. After becoming the highest-ranked recruit in the history of the University of Maryland, she transferred to Louisiana State University, where she led the Tigers to their first NCAA National Championship. Now a staple in the professional ranks, the Baltimore native uses her platform to merge her love for sport with her passion for style.
"I am obviously into basketball, but I’m also into fashion, so I wanted something versatile that you can wear on and off the court," Reese said during the interview. She noted that she maintained creative control throughout the design process, ensuring the silhouette reflected her personal flair.
The influence of NBA legends and Reebok icons Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson looms large over the partnership. Reese said that her connection with O'Neal, an LSU alum, moved beyond business into a genuine friendship. It was O'Neal who initially approached her about joining the Reebok family.
Beyond the sneakers and magazine covers, Reese remains deeply rooted in her community. Through The Angel C. Reese Foundation, she has donated more than $50,000 in scholarships and hosted financial literacy programs for young girls in underprivileged areas.
"It’s important for them to see somebody like them," Reese told Vogue. "Because when you see it, you can believe it. You can be it."
Coming off a successful stint with the U.S. squad in the 2026 FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament, Reese is now preparing for the WNBA preseason. The Sky are scheduled to face the Phoenix Mercury on April 25.
