Cason Wallace Raves About His Lady Kiki Rice After WNBA Draft
Cason Wallace has a lot to celebrate right now, both in his own career and in his personal life. While the Oklahoma City Thunder guard is locked in for a deep playoff run as the top seed in the West, he recently took a breather during media availability to talk about a huge moment for his girlfriend, Kiki Rice.
On April 13, the expansion Toronto Tempo made history by making Rice the franchise’s first-ever draft pick, taking the UCLA star No. 6 overall in the 2026 WNBA Draft. Wallace was right there in the mix in New York, playing the role of proud boyfriend on the orange carpet and capturing her media interviews on his phone.
During his session with reporters, Wallace kept it real about the experience, admitting he was more nervous watching her draft than he was for his own back in 2023. He mentioned how much fun it was to see her family enjoy the moment and to watch her finally live out the dreams she’s been working toward.
The draft was the perfect cap to an exciting week for Rice. Just eight days earlier, on April 5, she helped the UCLA Bruins secure a 79-51 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks, bringing home the program’s first women’s basketball national championship in the NCAA era. Rice showed out in the title game, putting up 10 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Wallace knows a thing or two about winning on the big stage himself, having secured an NBA championship with the Thunder in 2025. Now, his focus is back on the hardwood as Oklahoma City waits to see who they’ll face in the first round—either the Phoenix Suns or the Golden State Warriors.
