Jackie Young Is The WNBA’s First Million-Dollar Player

Former No. 1 overall pick Young is staying with the Las Vegas Aces under the groundbreaking deal.

The Las Vegas Aces are keeping their core intact as the franchise looks to extend its championship dynasty. On Thursday, sources confirmed to Alexa Philippou of ESPN that the team is finalizing a one-year agreement to bring back four-time All-Star guard Jackie Young.

The deal is reportedly set at the regular max of $1.19 million, making Young the first player in WNBA history to cross the million-dollar threshold in a single season.

Entering the offseason, the 28-year-old was projected to be one of the most sought-after players on the open market. However, despite the potential for a massive bidding war, Young reportedly chose not to take meetings with any other teams, opting instead to remain with the only professional organization she has ever known.

Since being selected by Las Vegas as the No. 1 overall pick in 2019 out of Notre Dame, the 6-foot guard has developed into one of the premier two-way threats in the league. Young was a cornerstone of the Aces' three titles in the last four years, including their 2025 championship run. Her individual accolades include being named the league’s Most Improved Player in 2022 and earning back-to-back All-WNBA selections.

During the 2025 campaign, Young remained a statistical force, averaging 16.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 36% from three-point range. Her defensive versatility and playmaking have made her an indispensable piece of a roster that already features four-time MVP A'ja Wilson and six-time All-Star Chelsea Gray.

With Wilson previously expressing her intention to stay in Las Vegas on a projected $1.4 million supermax deal, the retention of Young all but guarantees the Aces will enter the 2026 season with their "Big Three" leading the way.
