Myles Garrett Receives Citation For Driving 40 MPH Over Speed Limit
Myles Garrett, star defensive end of the Cleveland Browns, was issued a citation for speeding on the interstate in a Cleveland suburb.
According to the police report obtained by Cleveland.com, Garrett was cited by Strongsville law enforcement officers for traveling in his gray Ferrari at 100 mph in a 60 mph zone on Saturday (August 9) at 2:01 a.m on I-71 south.
Interestingly, Garrett was cited in the same area where Shedeur Sanders was pulled over for speeding in June.
Following the incident, Garrett was summoned to appear in Strongsville Mayor's Court on Thursday (August 14). But, if he pays the traffic ticket, he will not appear in court.
A team spokesperson said the Browns are aware of the incident.
During his tenure with the Browns, Garrett has received several excessive speeding tickets. Back in 2022, 3News Investigates revealed that Garrett was cited at least seven times including one ticket for going 120 mph on I-71.
In September 2022, he suffered a shoulder sprain and a biceps strain as well as cuts and bruises after flipping his Porsche 911 multiple times when he was speeding and swerved to avoid an animal.
Paying the fine will not be an issue for Garrett. THe 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year recently signed a 4-year, $160 million contract extension with the Browns, averaging $40 million per year.
Garret is now the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
