Dramatic 911 Audio Exposes Assault Allegations Involving Jets QB
Authorities in Florida continue to investigate a battery complaint involving New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith following an incident at his residence over the weekend.
According to police emergency audio obtained by The California Post on Tuesday, a woman called 911 on Sunday afternoon alleging that Smith physically assaulted her. The caller identified herself as Smith’s ex-girlfriend and stated that the quarterback attacked her at a home in Davie, Florida.
"My ex-boyfriend just beat me up," the woman said during the call. "This happened maybe about an hour ago."
The caller noted that the incident occurred in an area covered by home security cameras, though she expressed concern that the footage might have been deleted. She told the emergency dispatcher that she did not require medical attention.
A spokesperson for the Davie Police Department confirmed that officers responded to Smith's home at approximately 4:40 p.m. Sunday to investigate a battery claim. Law enforcement officials stated that no one was arrested or taken into custody at the scene and noted that the investigation remains active.
The emergency call followed public allegations made on social media Sunday afternoon by a woman named Kristen on her Instagram account. She shared an 85-second video clip that included footage filmed outside the residence, accusing the 35-year-old quarterback of physical assault, destroying her computer and taking her money. In the social media caption, she alleged the dispute was related to childcare responsibilities.
The Jets declined to comment on the matter when reached on Monday, and Smith has not publicly addressed the ongoing investigation or the allegations.
The Jets reacquired Smith earlier this year via a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. The veteran quarterback, who was originally drafted by New York in 2013 and played for the franchise through 2015, also spent time with the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks. With 98 regular-season starts over 12 years in the league, he is projected to be the team's starting quarterback for the 2026 season.
