Future in Question? Jordan Addison Arrested in Tampa for Third Off-Field Incident

Minnesota Vikings star Jordan Addison was arrested for trespassing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa. Police say Addison refused to leave a restaurant, marking his third legal incident since 2023.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested early Monday morning in Tampa, Florida, following an incident at a casino restaurant where authorities say he repeatedly refused to leave the premises.

According to a criminal report affidavit from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Addison was detained at approximately 3:46 a.m. at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The 23-year-old was booked on a first-degree misdemeanor charge of trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance.

Police records indicate that the situation began at the Jubao Palace Noodle Bar inside the casino. Staff members reportedly asked Addison to leave the restaurant several times, but he allegedly refused to comply. The affidavit states that, even as security and law enforcement officers escorted him toward the exit, Addison was "redirected" multiple times as he allegedly attempted to return to the area.

Addison was released Monday afternoon after posting a $500 cash bond. His attorney, Tim Younger, issued a statement on social media Tuesday expressing confidence that the wide receiver would be cleared of the charges.

"On Jordan’s behalf, his legal team has already initiated the investigation, identified witnesses, and we are reviewing the viability of a claim for false arrest," Younger wrote. "He looks forward to the legal process and upon full investigation, we are confident Mr. Addison will be exonerated."

The arrest comes at a sensitive time for Addison’s career. Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah addressed the situation during a season-ending press conference on Tuesday. While both expressed a desire to gather all the facts before making a final judgment, they acknowledged the pattern of off-field incidents involving the former first-round pick.

"Jordan is unique because 99 percent of the days that Jordan Addison is a Viking, he is a joy to be around," Adofo-Mensah told reporters. "He is incredibly intelligent, confident, responsible. And then, like all of us, it’s what are you like on those 1 percent of those days?"

This marks the third notable legal encounter for Addison since he was drafted No. 23 overall out of USC in 2023. He previously faced a suspension for the first three games of the 2025 season following a DUI arrest in 2024. Prior to his rookie season, he was also cited for driving 140 mph in a 55 mph zone in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Vikings face a May 1 deadline to decide on Addison’s fifth-year contract option. While his talent on the field is undeniable—racking up over 2,300 receiving yards in his first three seasons—the organization must now weigh his production against a recurring "1 percent" of days that continue to draw the wrong kind of attention.
