Angel Reese Rejoins Unrivaled Roster Following Midseason Trade
The defending Unrivaled champions are adding a major piece to their roster for the final weeks of the 2026 season. Angel Reese, who was the league’s premier rebounder and Defensive Player of the Year during the inaugural 2025 campaign, is returning to Rose BC. Reese is scheduled to rejoin the lineup for the final three games of the regular season, beginning Feb. 20.
The move is one of several late-season roster changes. Unrivaled recently ruled out Team Breeze’s Aari McDonald for the remainder of the year due to a flare-up of a lower-body injury suffered during the 2025 WNBA season, leaving an open spot in the player pool. Simultaneously, a trade on Monday sent Azurá Stevens from the Rose to the Hive, creating a front court opening that Reese will now occupy.
Reese returns to a squad she helped lead to a title last year. She joins a veteran core that includes reigning finals MVP Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper and Lexie Hull. During the league's debut season, the LSU product was a dominant force in the 3-on-3 format, recording the league’s first 20-point, 20-rebound game and leading all players in boards per contest. While she will not participate in the league's 1-on-1 tournament, her return provides a boost to a Rose BC team currently sitting in fifth place with a 5-6 record.
The reunion with Unrivaled follows a high-profile offseason for the Chicago Sky forward. As she prepares for her third WNBA season, Reese has remained active with various professional commitments. She recently participated in a Team USA minicamp and traveled to Germany for the NBA Europe game. Her signature Reebok sneaker is set to launch later this month, and she recently joined the production of the Netflix series “Hunting Wives” for its second season.
Her impact on the court has been consistent since she entered the professional ranks. Throughout her first two seasons in the WNBA, she has recorded 49 double-doubles and set a league record with six consecutive games of 15-plus rebounds. In 2025, she averaged 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds per game while improving her field-goal percentage to 45.8%.
Rose BC currently holds the fifth seed in the standings. With the top six teams qualifying for the postseason, the addition of Reese secures the defending champions' interior presence as they attempt to repeat.
