Flau’jae Johnson Set For Final Bow In Baton Rouge

As the regular season concludes, we celebrate the veteran guard’s commitment to Baton Rouge, from her 176 hours of service to her evolution into a potential WNBA lottery pick.

Flau’jae Johnson will be honored Thursday night at Louisiana State University'sPete Maravich Assembly Center as LSU hosts Tennessee for its final home regular season home game. The evening serves as the official senior night for Johnson, who arrived in Baton Rouge as a freshman and helped the program secure its first national championship in 2023. During that title run, she started all 36 games and averaged 11.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, earning the title of SEC Freshman of the Year.

Following that championship, Johnson remained a focal point of the roster through two subsequent Elite Eight appearances. As teammates graduated or entered the transfer portal, she stayed as the program’s anchor and the final remaining starter from the 2023 championship squad. Although she was eligible to enter the professional ranks following her junior year, Johnson chose to return for her senior season to further develop her leadership skills and improve her standing for the WNBA draft, where she is projected as a potential lottery pick.

Statistically, Johnson has seen her production increase in each of her first three seasons, culminating in an average of 18.6 points per game during the 2024-25 campaign. This season, she is averaging 14.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Entering her senior year, she was ranked No. 11 on the LSU all-time scoring list with 1,565 career points. With her current pace, she has the opportunity to finish her career among the top five scorers in school history.

Johnson’s contributions extend to the Baton Rouge community, leading to her selection for the 2026 SEC Community Service team. Throughout her four years at LSU, she has completed 176 hours of community service, participating in events such as the Baton Rouge Miracle League, Empower 225, and the LSU Halloween BOOzar. She also partnered with Meta to fund a renovation of the women’s basketball locker room at her alma mater, Sprayberry High School in Georgia. More recently, she spent time painting shoes with patients at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, artwork that was later displayed during the Tigers’ game against Texas-Arlington.
