Paul Pierce Says Black Men Should Date Women From Overseas

The NBA legend found himself in controversy after advising Black men that it would be better to date internationally.

Paul Pierce believes that Black men should date women from overseas.

On the latest episode of his podcast “The Truth After Dark,” the NBA legend made controversial statements, arguing that American women “don’t have the same values” and women abroad are more appreciative of their partners. He even cited French Montana as one of his prime examples of international dating.

“He’s outta here with American women. He got himself a princess from Dubai. That’s what Black men need to be doing,” Paul said. “These women overseas, they appreciate you. They put you first. They ain’t on Instagram shaking for likes.”

Paul also said that American women, especially Black women, have no interest in men who are not in a high financial bracket.

“In America, if you're broke, you ain’t getting no love,” Pierce said. “You gotta take ’em shopping. You gotta buy ’em something. Overseas, you can show up with a couple hundred dollars, and they treat you like a king.”

The former Boston Celtics forward also said that American women don’t value real relationships because they’re too busy on social media.

“You can’t compete with the internet,” he said. “These women out here getting compliments all day from 100 dudes. What you supposed to do with that?”

Azar, Paul’s co-host, did not let him get away with his sweeping mischaracterizations of women,

“Paul, not every woman is doing that. Not me. I don’t need a man to take me shopping to show love,” Azar said. She challenged Paul for turning a blind eye to sex tourism, claiming that some women “will sleep with you for $25” in other countries.

“Over here, the price is up,” she said. “That’s the only difference.”

According to Paul, women chasing acceptance on social media makes it increasingly difficult to find true love.

“That’s why it’s so hard to date here. Everybody is chasing status,” Paul said. “Overseas, it’s about love.”
