Gervonta ‘Tank” Davis Facing Domestic Violence Accusations Ahead of Jake Paul Fight
Ahead of his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, Gervonta "Tank" Davis has had another run-in with the law.
According to ESPN, a new civil lawsuit was filed in Miami-Dade County over another alleged domestic incident. In the suit, Courtney Rossel, Davis' ex-girlfriend has accused him of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Per the lawsuit, Rossel claims the attack took place Monday, Oct. 27 at Tootsie's Cabaret, a strip club in Miami Gardens where she is a VIP cocktail waitress. The complaint says “Davis choked, grabbed, pulled, pushed and hit her in the back of the head.”
Rossel said that Davis forcibly “grabbed and dragged her through a stairway, through the kitchen, and through the back entrance all the way into the parking garage,” the complaint reads.
Rosell claims she met Davis in 2022 and were “ intimately involved” for five months before the alleged attack took place.
Calvin Ford, Davis' trainer, described the lawsuit "nonsense'' and said they were "trying to see where it's coming from.''
This is not the first time that Davis has been accused of domestic violence allegations. Back in July, Davis was arrested on a battery charge after an incident involving a woman who is the mother of his two children. Eventually, the charges were dropped when the alleged victim and another witness refused to cooperate with law enforcement.
In February 2020, he was arrested on charges of simple battery/domestic violence against his former girlfriend after surveillance footage showed him grabbing her shirt near her throat and dragging her out of a basketball game. Also, in December 2022, Davis was arrested in Florida on a domestic battery charge, but the victim recanted her accusation, and the charges were eventually dropped.
Davis’ highlight-anticipated fight against Paul is scheduled for November 14, 2025 in Miami.
